Look:I like these shoes a lot. They look nice enough to be a little bit dressy, but are comfortable enough to wear every day. Unique looking, but not too weird. With long pants, they have an almost boot-like look, but they are very light and feel almost like slippers to wear, though more supportive than a slipper. The construction of them is unique as the sole itself is pretty thin. There is a thick but lightweight insole, almost 1" at the heel, which you do not see from the outside as it is covered by the leather below the ridge/seam that you see around the bottom. They are pretty true to size. I usually wear a men’s 11 or 11.5, and I ordered these in 11 knowing that Clarks can sometimes run up to 1 size large. It was a good estimation - 11.5 would have been too big. If you have wide feet, maybe your usual size would be fine, but otherwise, I would order a half size smaller. I have very narrow feet, so I need some insoles with them (despite the very thick insole built-in) or else they are too roomy from insole to tongue, and my foot moves around too much, but the general length is right. I tried them on at the same time as a pair of the Wallabee boots and chose these for the overall versatility and light weight of them, but it was a tough choice as the Wallabee boots were also very comfortable and nice looking. Very comfortable and nice looking, BUT once broken in they loosen up quite a bit, especially in the heel for me. I have a wideish foot, so the front feels fine broken in. I got these for Christmas from my wife and I couldn't have asked for a better gift. These shoes are awesome. The look and comfort can't be beat. The only small issue was getting them on. The only problem is that I thought that they would give a little more after putting them on every day since Christmas, but they are still a little tough to get on. They arrived on Monday a full 3-4 days early! Service doesn't get any better. The shoes are fantastic. They fit true to size and width. They needed a shoe horn to put them on, but many well made shoes do. Once on they are like wearing slippers. I've always really liked the gum rubber soles and it's been over 30 years since I've had pair of shoes with them. Now I know what I've missed and will be getting more Clarks shoes from Zappos!!! Not so. The top of the heel is at a peculiar height, too short to step into and just tall enough, with a fairly narrow opening, combined with the rough-out leather, which grabs your sock, to make them very difficult to get in and out of. They are also very tight across the top of the foot. However, the soles are the perfect combination of soft resiliency and great grip.
