This is a lovely shoe with great style, a just right heel for someone who doesn't go in for heels much, BUT I think because I am fairly flat-footed, there was too much rubbing at my instep and so back they went. I got the Vanessa in red and--though I haven't worn it for long--it seems both adorable and comfy. A little slippy in the back, but nothing that can't be fixed with a slip-guard. I can stride around in it like it's my frumpiest walking shoe, while looking cute, cute, cute! Often I find that straps feel tight on my unusually high instep, but these feel just right--secure without cutting or binding. Though they looked like a good dance shoe--and that's why I chose them--the rubber sole that makes for such comfortable walking tends to grip the floor and not let go. I'm keeping them anyhow. I purchased a shoe stretcher and that worked well. Now they fit just perfect. They look sassy on my feet. I have flat feet and they are always hurting. I danced in these shoes all night and my feet did not hurt. I may need to buy more colors or I will wear these out too fast. There are no fit issues at all so I think they'll get worn a lot which is rarely the case for me with anything even a little dressy or feminine. I have a medium width foot, but these are a little wider in the heel, which is causing my heel to slip. I am going to see if a heel gripper would help, which I have used in other shoes. They are such great looking shoes that I am going to give it some extra effort to make them work. Never actually stick the heel grip to the shoe! They look fantastic on, especially with jeans. I have the brown and it's a nice color, not too dark and not too light. I have a narrow, long foot (size 9 or 9.5), and the size 9 fit me perfect. I'd probably say that if you have a wide foot, these wouldn't work. (If you have a wide foot, check out the Privo Oleander -- also really cute!) I love this shoe so much, I wore it for a full day of shopping, and it hurt and left a blister an inch below my pinky toe, but I am taking them straight to the shoe repair shop to get them stretched, they are too fabulous to let go. But they run pretty narrow, and I have a narrow foot. I bought the 7.5 first, my size, but they gapped in the back. The 7 fit but rubbed on the sides of my foot and overall were too narrow. It’s such a shame, because I really love vintage style and otherwise these would have been perfect. Try them though; they are so cute and elegant for Clarks. Top |
