Favorite pair of shoes ever! Besides my Reef flip flops and Birkenstocks, these are the most comfortable pair of footwear I have ever had. I bought them in Hong Kong two days ago, and I just hiked the Great Wall in these and walked the Forbidden City today in these with no pain, blisters or anything! They look amazingly stylish with khakis or jeans, and my feet slip into them very well with the laces tied (I hate tying shoes). Like others have said, these don't provide any arch support, which is okay by me, but I will most likely get some foot inserts in the future for them.

I've had Clarks Desert Boots since I was young back in the 1950s. I wanted a new pair, as the last pair (not from 1950s) I retired (not me) a while ago. When I saw the leather was beeswax, I knew it would be good for the winter, as opposed to my previous ones were only good for non-winter weather, for me. Well, the beeswax Clarks is even heftier (better for the winter for me) than I expected. I love them! Absolutely.

Fell apart after a couple weeks - Used to be my go to shoe, I was on my third pair, but this time the leather came detached from the sole within two weeks after I bought them. The only thing holding them together was the stitching. Too bad, because I really love the style, but cannot ever trust that they will last more than a couple of weeks. What happened to Clarks, they used to be top notch quality?

I want another pair, I love these shoes! I wear them with everything everywhere. They took a few days to break-in, but now they\'re super comfortable and I hope they made another pair of 14 D\'s because as soon as these wear out I immediately want another.

Everlasting - Have had these shoes for a year now and they still look and feel great. The leather is obviously warn, but that is a whole look within itself! I've never had a pair of shoes that has lasted me this long and I am about to purchase another pair. The only thing I had to replace was the laces! Great shoes, retro look, great with jeans.

Absolutely fabulous!!! Love these shoes. Soo comfortable and soo vintage trendy. They go with everything. True to size. Not a lot of arch support. I put inserts in them.

Be careful about lack of arch support - I bought these shoes and loved them - very comfortable out of the box and I thought they looked great. Within a week, the top of my left foot hurt at the arch from the laces, and I had weird pains and cramps in both my arches from the lack of support. I am an athlete and have never had foot trouble before, so I was disappointed that these shoes were so problematic after only a week of regular use. Other reviews seem positive, and my friend had a pair in high school and liked them. I've been running regularly the last week and wearing sandals, and my pain has gone away, so I am sure these shoes caused it. They seem to be good shoes for most, but I would be a little wary.

Nice but ehhh.. These are nice shoes and when I first tried them on they were superbly comfortable. But that was walking around in the shoe store. When I started wearing them to work and then out, that leather never softened up and it was hurting every time I wore them. Maybe I have panzy feet. But anyhow, this morning I was putting them on and the threading at the top of the tongue was coming undone!!! What the!!! I took them to the store where I bought them and they have just amazing customer service, they took them back and gave me a new pair, but this time I took the amazing Wallabees...second to nothing on earth! Clarks shoes and service is amazing.

Great! I love this shoe, I am about to purchase my 3rd pair of desert Trek, this will be my second bees wax color and also I have a pair of the suede ones. My friends started to buy these shoes after they saw how great they looked on me. They would never had thought of purchasing them. Nice shoe for a pair of jeans, button-down shirt, and maybe even a blazer.

Really bummed!! I absolutely love this shoe. So you might ask why I rated it so low. Last night I found the leather coming detached from the sole on both shoes in a number of locations. The shoes are only a few weeks old so this really is unacceptable. I thought for sure the shoes would hold up better. I happen to own an original pair from the 70's that were boxed up. Forgot I had them. Anyways I will be contacting Zappos to review my options. I hate to get rid of them and will probably try another pair before I give up. Who knows maybe I will even have a shoe repair place fix them. Really comfortable and look great. Just too bad quality control has fallen off!

Great classic shoe - My husband loves these shoes, just as he did decades ago. He has a fairly wide foot and high instep and this shoe really fills the bill for him. He recently lost a pair on a business trip and after trying to retrieve them for a day or so told me he HAD TO HAVE A REPLACEMENT PAIR RIGHT AWAY. Great shoe.

Could hardly get better - I've had this boot for 3 years now and except for the thickness of the sole, it simply could not get any better. They just look great, even today, after being worn at least once a week for over 3 years. I would like to see them with a thicker sole. Esthetically they would look much better, plus, would probably be even longer lasting. I will buy another pair at some point.

These deserve some kind of award - Do they hand out awards for shoes? They should. This is a winner in looks and comfort. I feel like I'm wearing a piece of understated art, but walking on a cloud. Beyond that, it's hard to find the right words that express properly my enthusiasm for these shoes except to say that I love them so much that I want to wear them all the time. I'm a freelance writer, which means that I work a lot at home, where I have the luxury of padding around in my socks or slippers. Now I'd rather pad around in these, they're that comfortable and that much fun. As for size, I had a little trouble determining what was right for me, but then my shoe size ranges anywhere from 11 to 12, depending on the make of the shoe. I would say that the size runs pretty true to what a Converse Low-Top Chuck Taylor runs or about 1/2 size smaller than the typical Born Oxford. I'm most comfortable in an 11.5 Chucks or 12 Born and at first, hearing all the advice about how they run big, I went with an 11. I could fit my feet in, but the leather pinched in places and there wasn't much wiggle room for my toes. I replaced them with an 11.5 and the fit is spot-on. (As an aside, I also ordered the Desert Boot, which does indeed seem to run large and my best fit there was an 11.) Buy these shoes. You won't be sorry.

NINJA SHOES - I love the feel of my new desert treks, I always joke with my kids how they cant here me walking and they love to laugh with me. Love the shoes but a bit ugly I will buy another pair tough. Very very comfortable and the service at Zappos is by far the best on the web.

Classic - Great classic shoe! A little tight around the middle part of your foot, but that will loosen up. Order your true shoe size. I made the mistake of ordering a 1/2 size smaller and had to give them away to a friend. He digs them as well!

Comfortable from the Get-Go - These shoes were comfortable from the minute I put them on. There was no breaking-in period needed. I got them just before leaving on vacation, and even though I did lots of walking, my feet didn't hurt at all. They are a great everyday shoe.

Flat footed - This shoe is great. I have had nothing but good results from it. The waxed finish looks great and you can easily rub scratches out with your fingers. I'm flat footed so the lack of arch support is an issue.

A close second - My all time second favorite pair of Clarks true "classics". Second only behind a discontinued product offered by Clarks roughly 8 years ago. ("Urban Trek")Which are soon to be re-soled. These Desert Treks will serve you well for years. Purchase with vigor my friends you will not be disappointed. Great look and feel... may run a half size large. Have great confidence when purchasing from Zappos. Great customer service and care.

Loved the shoes - I ordered these shoes for my son who is a knob at the Citadel. His coach had a pair and my son loved them. I ordered them one morning and the next day the shoes were there. My son has not taken them off since he got them. He says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever had.

Like a true moccasin - This shoe fits perfectly and was spot on when it came to size. I had always wanted a pair and I’m not disappointed, they mold to the shape of your foot and can be worn anywhere with just about anything. One big plus is that even out in the rain or mud they just don’t seem to pick up anything on the soles. I have tile in my house and they never leave spots or dirt on the floor. They are the quietest shoe ever. I will certainly replace these when they wear out. They have a wonderful shape once worn-in and the toe box is wide enough that my feet never get tired in them. They will soften up nicely over the course of a week or so.

Nice shoe, but - I found the workmanship not up to the last pair of Clarks that I owned. There was a sloppy attachment of the sole to the rest of the shoe, and I found the shoe to be more narrow than expected. After 4 or 5 days this improved somewhat. I also had to go to an insert to have any type of arch support. I really like the plantation crepe sole and wish I could find more shoes with this feature.

Classic - These shoes are classic, it says a lot about them that I'm seeing them crop up in trendy shoe boutiques when they've been around for at least 30 years. The leather is good quality, although it needs a lot of breaking in, and has a beautiful finish. My gripe with these is the plastic encased toe box - it makes the leather fold in one spot where the edge of the plastic often hits my foot, and this also makes it sorta visible on the outside once they're broken in. Also, the ends of my feet are always sweaty when I take them out. The height of the shoes also causes the collar to rub directly on my ankles. They interface much better with some fits of pants more than others; so far they look best with my loose khakis folded up in front. Another gripe: little rocks and bits of gravel on the sidewalk sometimes get embedded in the crepe rubber, and dirt paths are the bane of the porous rubber. On the other hand, the rubber makes these ninja-quiet, which is sweet.

This is how much I like this shoes. I was wondering around which shoes I would go for as my next shoes. I had the same model for a long time, but I could not find anything about the same, in terms of comfort, looks, or the price. At the end of the day, though I thought I wasn’t too creative, I bought exactly the same shoes. After all, this 2nd shoe gives me everything I wanted. Enough said.

Fabulous! These pair of shoes mark my first purchase from Zappos and I am impressed (though they could lighten up on the packaging materials). Clark's Desert Trek is the quintessential casual shoe. The elegant profile is both functional and compliments many styles. The shoe is comfortable and roomy, though no trace of arch support. Nonetheless, your feet will love you.
