At first I was satisfied with this shoe. They are comfortable and I like the style. They are just wide enough for me in the standard width, which was all that was available. My feet are a little on the wide side so a wider shoe would be slightly better. I was disappointed by the durability after a few weeks. I found a tear in the suede from one lace hole to another and I have no idea how it got there so it couldn't have been from anything extreme. They were laced tight and something must have hit that spot without so much force for me to have been concerned. The suede is very thin so I wouldn't recommend them for any anything more potentially stressful than walking on a street. The soles are also pretty thin and without a heel, which is something I like about them, but know that you will feel this in your feet. I decided to keep them because I don't know of anything that I would like better and it could be a hassle to get a refund. I sewed the tear together and it has held up for a couple days so far and looks okay. I previously owned the old Clarks Nature shoe in suede which had much thicker leather and a tougher sole and lasted for years. And they were at least as comfortable as the Asheville. Only problem for me is that they don't make them in suede anymore and I prefer that look. I don't know if they make them as well as they used to but if you like the style, Nature II is probably worth the extra money.
