These boots are really comfortable. I am not overweight, but if you are, and have fat ankles there is plenty of room in these boots. If anything I would prefer that there be less heel space, but the comfort makes up for any shortcomings in that aspect of the fit. The soles make for soft footfalls and the height keeps your feet warm under drafty desks.
