I must say though, that the sole feels odd, as though the part under the ball of my foot is elevated above my heel. Not a deal breaker, but awkward. They are comfortable even on my poor abused feet. They kept my feet dry and are very easy to get on and off thanks to zippers on both sides. If you are looking for fashion boots, look elsewhere. These are built for comfort and function. They will earn their keep during this dreadful winter. Zappos service was as always, fabulous. The inside zipper was a little stiff at first to get up and down but with use has become easier. They also clean up well. I would definitely buy them again. I usually wear a 10, and these fit a little big, but would do good with a thicker sock. They just made my big feet look super long. The double zipper makes them easy to get on and off. I use orthotics and they work well in these boots. I purchased these boots because I own a low-top version by Clarks already and I love them, but when I garden, I always get dirt in my shoes and socks. These boots are everything I hoped for. They are almost exactly like the low-tops, but with the bonus shaft with easy entry. I paired mine with some Superfeet inserts so not only are my feet clean and dry, they are toasty warm on those chilly mornings! Look:Clarks Bold Rock Boots are wonderful. I wear a size 12 and even after trying on my new boots with heavy socks, my toes can still move! The Bold Rock boots have dual zippers and it says right on them that they are waterproof. I ordered the boots late last night and they were on my porch when I got home this afternoon.
