Can be worn casual or dressed up. Clarks tend to be a little snug for me in the regular width so I ordered my normal size in the wide width in this shoe. It was too big. I loved this style because it had a kind of retro feel. Great heel height for both dresses and pants. I usually take a 10 wide, but as other reviewers had noted, a half size larger in Sofft shoes does the trick. Unfortunately there are no 10 1/2 shoes (why is that?) so I had to settle for an 11. They are a tiny bit big, but I am keeping them because they do have that wide strap to keep them on my feet. In a regular pump, I think they would fall off. Very comfortable. Only bad thing I have to say is that I have been wearing them now for the first time this week and the back has been rubbing. I have been wearing a band-aid to stop a blister and it's fine. They are stretching to my feet fast and I think by next week I will not need the band-aid. I had surgery on my foot about 5 months ago and have been looking for comfortable shoes to wear. I have a wide foot anyway, so it's been extremely difficult to find good looking, comfortable shoes. This one fits the bill! I have them in black and just ordered them in brown. I would buy other colors if they were available. Also, I can't say enough about Zappos. I had to order and return multiple shoes, multiple times, to find some I could wear and the service couldn't be better. I don't need to even look anywhere else for shoes. They are slightly roomier than I thought they'd be, but they fit well enough to keep rather than go down half a size (plus a heavier sock would do the trick). I have been wearing them with slacks to work and I have gotten many compliments on them.
