Look:I have a very tender sole. All that stitching made of something meant to last the life of the shoe on the insole irritated my foot immediately! Look:This is a terrific, very light-weight sandal. I have very tender feet and did add (glue-in) a soft insole. I just packed them for a week-end trip and they were perfect for a lunch party. Look: I purchased a pair of these last week. Since I need a lift on my right shoe and I wear orthotics in my other shoes, I took them right to the shoe maker, he was able to pull the insole open enough at the arch area to slip an arch support in for me. The sole on the "unstructured" line works well with a lift, he adds a 1/4" black lift and it blends well with the existing sole. I also notice that these sandals seem "springy" when I walk. Wore these sandals for a full day and was so comfortable and the bunion area never suffered. I also have to wear orthotics in my other shoes but these were fine without.
