Look:The shoes are comfortable. However, there is no arch support and I would have liked the lacing system to be a little higher on the instep. I think it would have made for a better fit. I have had very good luck in the past with Clark shoes. The service from Zappos is excellent. Look:I think I've finally found the shoe that I'll buy over and over again for years to come. These shoes are very comfortable and well made. You can dress them up with slacks or dress them down sock-less with flip flops. It's a timeless design that hasn't changed for 40 years. The best everyday shoes I've had. They're pretty comfortable, but not exceptionally so (The arch support is virtually nonexistent. I'm getting archy insoles...). The main thing is they are understated and look very cool. They're also very simple and seem quite durable. Good for sauntering around town in your snazziest '60s tight-fitting suit. Other reviewers have remarked on how quiet they are. Ok, by now everyone knows how good Zappos is, but I just ordered these last night; I woke up and saw a email that they have shipped, went to the gym and they are on my porch when I came home. Unbelievable service. Now for the shoe. Size was correct, looks are incredible. I tried them on with everything I have and I think I could have found the one shoe that works with everything. Clarks is the originator of the desert boot and they are under a $100, plus they are so comfortable I can't believe it. There is little arch support but for some reason they don't feel that way. First of all, the shoe fit perfectly. I ordered a half size up like some people suggested, but they were too big. So I ordered my correct size, 10, and they really do fit like a glove, and they really are pretty comfortable. Second, I am speechless at how fast Zappos is. I ordered on Saturday and received them Monday. When I called to exchange them for the proper size, I received THAT pair Tuesday! And all of the shipping was done for free. For those who haven't, it's very, very quiet. I kinda feel like creeping and lurking and sneaking up on people while wearing them. I ordered my size, and while they do feel loose-ish in dress socks or thin cotton, fall-weight cotton socks fill them out nicely. A boot that doesn't feel like a boot, no wonder they were all over the seventies! They look good with jeans and khakis. They're a great alternative to the trendy 'athletic-inspired' shoe. They're classic. You gotta love Clarks. Plus Steve McQueen wore 'em. Need I say more!?! I love Clarks Wallabees and I have been wearing just one pair for the last 2 years and it still looks great and feels comfortable. I thought I would try the Desert Boot to switch it up and I was VERY disappointed. The shoe was very uncomfortable and my feet felt cold in them. The back of my heel began to hurt because the shoe is so stiff and the quality of leather is nothing like it is with the Wallabee. The look of the shoe could be mistaken for a Doc Marten and I find that insulting. Stick with the Wallabee!!!
