They were comfortable right out of the box, but because they are still flip flops, I can't recommend them for all day walking tours. In general, I like the look and the feel. This is probably my 10th pair of Clarks and they are extremely comfortable right out of the box. The toe part always makes me nervous, but these are comfortable! The shoe was comfortable right out of the box, and on my foot the straps didn't rub at all. I have a pretty standard medium width foot, and ordered my usual size. I have a very narrow, skinny foot and this is the only flip-flop that I don't walk out of. It fits very close to the foot. May be too tight for someone with a wide or plump foot. Ordered a 6.5 and heel was right on the edge, so I reordered a 7 and it was much too big. I don't really know how there could be that much difference in half a size, but it was. I kept the 6.5 and returned the 7. That free shipping both ways can't be beat. Also, ordered at night and received shoes the next day. I might just order my 3rd pair in a different color. It fit well and felt good right out of the box. In fact, the first time I wore them they had a trial by fire of sorts. I wore them when I took my daughter to the Dr. It turned out she had appendicitis and these babies ran with me through the entire ordeal! From rushing down corridors to pacing a waiting room and beyond. I remember looking down at the sandals that evening, once she was in her room and thinking, "Wow, my feet feel pretty good." No blisters, no cramps, no heel pain (Plantar Fasciitis), no leg pain. I wear them all the time now. They look great with shorts, skorts & jeans as well. The fabric piece between your toes is so soft that you can't even feel it there. The same is true of the straps - very soft and comfortable. These shoes are literally like going barefoot. I wore them on vacation (lots of walking) and the thong strap did not bother me any. Very comfortable foot bed and arch support. I wear a size 12 which is impossible to buy in stores. Some people felt that they needed a little larger size than needed, but it was perfect for my foot. May just be a little bit wide. I ordered this shoe on Monday afternoon about 12:30 and had it Tuesday afternoon about 1:30. Unbelievable, I still can't figure out how Zappos does it! I tell everyone I know about how great Zappos is and no shipping cost either way. Keep up the great work-- Zappos!
