It was true to size in length, but it is much wider than any other Clark's narrow sandal I have ever worn. I wear mostly sandals and these are extraordinarily good looking on my feet. There was absolutely no break in period. These are good comfortable basic sandals to wear with shorts. I am still hoping Zappos will contact me if the beige comes in. As for the noise that people have noted, it is almost undetectable on the pair that I have. I will wear these into the fall. The picture doesn't really show clearly that it is a thong type. I think that makes it very up to date. It does run a full size larger than marked so order accordingly.
