They are as elegant as a sandal can be and at the same time can be casual if you'd like. I found them to be extremely comfortable, fashionable, and fun to wear. They make me happy when I wear them. I'm even wearing one pair at my daughter's formal evening wedding in Florida at the end of this month. That is how fantastic they are! I had absolutely no fit problems with them and was able to wear them right out of the box, which I can't always do. You will wear these sandals more than you might imagine. Everything about it is perfect except for the fact that it has a slightly narrow width. The strap feels fine and doesn't rub. However, it feels as though my feet are slightly over the sides of the shoe – and I've never had problems with widths before. I wear a 6.5 M, which I ordered, and my foot was smothering the footbed and oozed over the top. [It made me think of Cinderella's evil step sister trying it on, and I'm a petite gal, so that was bizarro.] The bottom is very narrow and didn't contain my foot. The toe thong keeps shoe on the foot, but has wicked thwap thwap when you walk. A very comfortable thong that is hidden beneath the band. Bought the brown and came back for two more, the white and the black.
