I normally wear an 11 in a running shoe and a 10 1/2 in a dress shoe. The 10 fit fine. I've worn them almost constantly during the warm months and on vacations during that time. I've worn them on city streets and on rough, wet trails, and on the beach. Despite owning several pairs of technical sandals, these remain my favorite pair for nearly all environments. They have also been through the washer/dryer at least nine times, and aside from the dye fading a bit, are not much worse for wear. They do run big, and since they don't actually make them small enough for me (I'm a female with a wide foot who often wears men's 7/8), they do fit loosely. But they are still very secure--I can run in them without loosing them or twisting an ankle. My only real complaint is that they don't make them in black. I'm a size 10 on the brannock device, got a 10.5, and my toes are an inch from the end of the sandal. Tired of continually having to repair his Doc’s I talked him into trying these on at the local mall - he loved them right away! As other reviewers have noticed, they run big - my guy usually wears a size 12W, and he went to an 11M in this one. He wears these everywhere now, and it's a total win - the other day he even admitted to a friend that he liked them better than his old Doc’s. Sandals look silly if they don't fit your foot's length, so I have gone years since my last pair because I haven't found any that came close to a proper fit. Tried on a pair of Clarks at one of their retail outlets, which helped me to see to know I needed a full size smaller -- if they had my width there I would have bought 'em. Ordered a pair of 8W's from Zappos, came the next day, and perfection! After wearing them a couple of times they now seem just a bit loose, a strange sensation for someone with my foot dimensions. The leather is soft, they are easy to get on and off, and they look great. My only criticism would be that the velcro strap lacks range in its adjustment. There is basically only one inch of adjustment, which if you have thin or thick ankles, could present a problem. I browsed through the different brands of the similar style and ended up choosing this one because of the look and reviews that I had read. My husband loves them - says they are super comfortable. In other reviews they said the sandal runs a full size larger - we would say about a half size. I thought they were going to be way too small when I took them out of the box, but when he put them on, he said they fit great. He has very wide feet, too and these actually fit him well! I have never been a sandal person - they've never felt right, been to hard to put on, had badly placed straps that were uncomfortable or caused blisters - just not my thing. And I've tried the expensive ones too - Mephisto’s, Birkenstocks, etc. None of them have held a candle to these. Quality materials, intelligently designed, very easy to put on and wear, decent looking (hey, they're sandals) and long-lasting. It is a great and comfortable sandal, but it is oversized at least 1-2 sizes....I bought a full size smaller than my normal size shoe and it was still a little long, it was comfortable. The size issues appear to be more with length than w/ width.
