Look:I ordered these in the black and absolutely love the style of them. I've gotten so many compliments and I love how the patent leather adds to any outfit. I find the soles to be very comfortable, but around the toe, the shoes rub very badly. I tried putting cushioning on the shoe or bandaids on my foot, but it still hurts! I give this shoe a 4 because it's otherwise comfortable and I'm hoping they will be more comfortable after getting broken in. It just doesn't look nearly as good on the foot as it does in the picture. Something about the proportions aren't quite right. When I wore it for about 2 hours I couldn't wait to get in the car so I could get out of my shoes. For a Clarks shoe I thought I was going to get VERY comfortable, well made shoes. The only problem was the side rubbed my foot and it broke the skin. I had to take a break from the shoes. After break in time they will be great. I normally wear a 7 1/2, and I have a wide toe (C) and narrow heel (AA). I did have to exchange them for a 7. The B width was roomier, in toe width and depth, than normal B widths, which was great for me. It is difficult for me to find stylish shoes that fit. This is the first closed heel shoe I've had in a long time that fit me well. I have to wear low-heeled shoes or flats, due to knee arthritis, so I'm pleased to find these cute shoes. This shoe is among the most comfortable I have ever worn and I can wear them without socks, which is a first for me. They are perfect for work or casual. I also have to give 5 stars to customer service. I usually wear a size 8 but after reading other reviews ordered a 7.5 (which fit perfectly). When I ordered my second pair I had a senior moment and ordered an 8. Called customer service and had a 7.5 within 24 hours. Amazing!!! I spent some time in Europe this summer and these shoes were among the 3 pairs I'd switch out to do touristy, walk for hours at a time activities. Sometimes they feel like I will walk right out of them, but the soles are extremely comfortable and I haven't actually walked out of them yet - which was something I was concerned about because my foot is narrow and these shoes seem a little wide. If you have narrow feet, or no foot problems that's good advice. I'm an 8. I tried on the 7 1/2 and they were nicely snug, but as a person with long term bunion problems snug is not wise. For me, the 8 was spot on. Roomy, but still wrapped the foot well. (Some heel pads solved a slight slippage problem.) I have the red and black patent, which are classy and professional. I have the silver in a slightly different style (but the same structure), and they are wedding gorgeous. They are nice enough to dress up capris or jeans, but not so dressy to be impractical. They will also look cute with skirts. I wear an 11, and have a hard time finding a shoe that's a good fit. It is absolutely CUTE, but ill-fitting. Very wide in the heel. I purchased some heel gripper adhesive inserts, which helped, but one heel has a blister from it. If I hadn't worn them outdoors, probably would return them. Now I'm determined to "break them in".
