These shoes run BIG. Clarks Artisan shoes DEFINITELY run much larger than regular Clarks do. I spent some time in Europe this summer and these shoes were among the 3 pairs I'd switch out to do touristy, walk for hours at a time activities. Sometimes they feel like I will walk right out of them, but the soles are extremely comfortable and I haven't actually walked out of them yet - which was something I was concerned about because my foot is narrow and these shoes seem a little wide. If you have narrow feet, or no foot problems that's good advice. I'm an 8. I tried on the 7 1/2 and they were nicely snug, but as a person with long term bunion problems snug is not wise. For me, the 8 was spot on. Roomy, but still wrapped the foot well. (Some heel pads solved a slight slippage problem.) I have the red and black patent, which are classy and professional. I have the silver in a slightly different style (but the same structure), and they are wedding gorgeous. I love the style and comfort. I wear them to work, with jeans, with skirts and dresses. They're flat so they don’t hurt my feet. They are nice enough to dress up capris or jeans, but not so dressy to be impractical. They will also look cute with skirts. I wear an 11, and have a hard time finding a shoe that's a good fit. I opened the box and tried them on, they were very classy looking and felt very comfortable, however it was about one size larger than my size 5 and the width was wider than anticipated, and unfortunately they don't a smaller size. They are both very very cute. I did make the mistake of trying to wear them for an entire day and I did get a blister on one foot. I think they just rub my one foot in a weird place because the other foot was fine! I have been looking for a flat that was the perfect "red" (not too bright or obnoxious, but also not a deep red either) and also comfortable and these work great. I did order a half size down, and that worked (surprisingly) for me. These shoes are versatile, adorable, and comfy- perfect. I have a long and narrow foot, and while the shoe seems to fit my foot well, I don't think the fit is quite as good as Clarks "Demure" flat (another very cute shoe). This shoe has some arch support, soft liner, cushiony sole, and cute. I didn't believe that I should order a 1/2 size down cause I always fit in a 9. I reordered for an 8 1/2. This shoe is great for my capris at work, with my (flare) jeans, and even some work trousers. I am happy with how comfortable they were for travel. I also expected them to be fairly well made since Clarks usually are but I thought they were pretty industrial-looking (seams a little ragged and edges of leather unfinished on the top detailing) and the inside was "squishy" and soft but not necessarily very comfortable... I think it's the kind of "squish" that goes away after you wear them a few times and I wasn't impressed. For the price, they were OK, but I'll keep shopping around for something a little sturdier.
