After being in heels for several hours as mother-of-the-groom, I was ready to get comfortable. These shoes were great for chatting with guests and dancing later in the night! I bought it in black suede and thought it was comfortable when I first wore it indoors. I decided to keep them and wore them outside. That's when the trouble started. They are stiff and don't soften up easily, and they shredded my heels by the time I'd walked a couple of blocks. I am still waiting for my feet to heal so I can try again. I might try to get some of those little socks that fit inside ballet flats just so I can wear them without blisters. Thought they fit slightly big - not sure if it is length or width, but they seem to kind of peel away from the foot when they bend in the process of walking and sometimes slipped off because of this. Even without a "wide" size, it was able to accommodate my small but painful bunion (barely). They were very soft and required little or no breaking in. The insole does stick to the bottom of my heel, but otherwise no complaint. They hide dirt well, too. I loved them so much I ordered them in black suede, but these feel like a different kind of leather - much stiffer and needing more breaking in. I wore it four times. Each time, I ended up with bloody little toes. Not just blisters, but bloody from the shoe seam at that point. The rest of the shoe fit perfectly, but even with bandaids I could not keep it from tearing up my little toes. I finally gave up. I didn't think they were as cute in person as online. On the positive side, the toe box area was roomy enough in the width, but I found it to be very shallow. I felt the shoe pressing down on my toes when I slipped them on. It's possible they might soften up, but I've wasted too much money in the past betting on how a shoe would break in. My other reaction on receiving these is that they seemed cheaply made for what I normally expect from Clarks. I haven't purchased Clarks in several years and was surprised to see the difference in quality compared to what they used to make. I am thrilled with how comfortable they are right from the start. Plenty of support for your arches. I hope to be dancing all night in them. Since I'm very much the practical shoe type and not the fun shoe type, I originally ordered these in black to wear to work. I'm trying to bust out a little though, so I went back and ordered the gold suede too. FABULOUS! The gold is absolutely beautiful and I'm really looking forward to wearing them out. I typically wear a 9.5 but had to order these in a 9. My only complaint is that they're not as comfortable out of the box as the Clarks Bluebird flat. My big toe rubs at the top of the shoe box, but a size up does not fit in the heel. I got the gold and it goes with just about everything. Get lots of compliments on them. They're not for heavy duty walking; I just wear them mostly for dress wear. I didn't buy them for super comfort, but they do feel pretty good. They're very attractive and classy looking. Zappos is simply the best place to buy shoes, that's why I save my time and order from Zappos. I like the soft, opaque look of the suede especially with the black, it looks like a fancy slipper and adds an unusual and sophisticated look to an all-black outfit. The style of the shoe is solid, well-designed and could suit many different women. It is not a super cool/cute shoe, but you would need to pay a lot more for that, and Clarks is just not that kind of brand. I have lots of problems with shoes causing blisters, and I took a short walk in these and they were fine. However, my big toe rubs at the top of the shoe box, but if I went up a size, they would not fit in the heel. They are already slip a bit, but not a big deal. Shoe cut into skin at my ankle, seemed too high, so didn’t keep them. They are larger than I thought, but b/c the toes are tight it was ok. I'm on my feet all day and do tons of walking. A cute and comfortable shoe is tough to find, but this shoe is the one. It looks great, fits my hard-to-fit and on-the-wide-side feet, and is comfortable right out of the box. I'm usually a size 10, but had to send the 10 back for a 9.5 which fits like a glove. I've since ordered the gold and the burgundy. They both are suede, but the burgundy suede is more delicate than the gold, which has a different texture. I was worried about picking a size, because I really need an 11.5 in most shoes, but cram myself into 11s or have too much room if I can even find 12s. Because both 11 and 12 was available, I decided to go with 11 based on the reviews. It was a perfect choice! I got the gold, and it's really pretty. They are VERY comfortable and required only a little bit of wear to break them in. It's nice that there's extra support at the heel, because I have a lot of trouble with heel pain in cheaper flats. The inside is nice and comfortable as well. Definitely worth it, and I'd recommend the gold!
