This shoe fit the bill. The heel is high but not too high, and there is a cushion insole which makes them very comfortable. They are not too narrow but I did go up a half size in these, and I'm usually a true size 6. There is decent arch support so I am able to walk in them all day, though nothing is as comfortable as Dansko's or Chacos. I was a little worried about these clogs because of the first review, but I took a chance and ordered the tan and black because I liked their looks - a cross between casual and dressy and I've always been satisfied with the comfort of Clark's. I wasn't disappointed! They are beautiful clogs and are very comfortable. I was afraid that the tan (peanut) colored clogs would be a peanut/camel color, but they are a beautiful rich light brown. The black ones have a tan topstitching which I like. They seem like they run a tad small in the length, but I ordered my normal shoe size and they'll be fine with or without socks (I'd rather have clogs a little smaller than larger so they're not flopping all over the place). They might not work for wide feet. My foot width is normal, maybe slightly on the narrow side, and they fit perfectly. About the heel: from the bottom of the heel to the top where your heel would lie, it is 3 inches in height. They are just measuring the actual heel and not including that little platform that your heel rests on. Kind of deceiving - I normally don't go above a 2 1/2 inch heel- even if there is a platform. They run a little narrow so I had to go up 1/2 size. I would have kept them but I wanted something a little jazzier. It seemed like it would be a comfortable clog but I didn't keep them long enough to really judge.
