Look:Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support So many compliments - I've gotten a lot of complements wearing this shoe. I had to stretch them out with newspaper for a couple days and now they fit like a dream. I hosted an event and wore these for hours and was comfy. High quality detailing and leather work makes them look more expensive than they are. Like others, I found this sizing to be a bit small, even though I'm between a 6 and 6.5 and ordered the 6.5. Worse, though, is that the black shoe had contrast stitching (brown). Not terrible, but not as pictured. It does, however, have a higher heel than I thought, which made it less comfortable for me and the shoe tends to chafe the balls of my feet. I didn't think that this shoe felt smaller or larger than usual, as some reviewers did, which led to me to purchase the wrong size initially. These Clarks are the exception. The "artisan" means there are soft air pockets as cushioning inside the shoe, providing for a very comfortable and stable fit. The arch support is good. If your ankles aren't strong (from a general lack of wearing heels, as are mine), these are the perfect shoe. Could be used as a work shoe, but I've only used it for going out. Sad but true - My feet have had the good fortune to grace a few pairs of Clarks in their time, but they will not be spending much time in the Marcella. These shoes are adorable but very painful, especially across the top of my foot. Curiously, one shoe felt at least a half size smaller than the other (both were 10s-I checked!), and neither felt like a true 10, so reordering in another size didn't seem like a real option. Also, the arch support felt like it was in the wrong place. In the end, it all felt wonky, and this Drucilla sent her pinching shoes back. This is why I love Zappos--you go with a trusted brand you feel like you know, you're taken by surprise, you send them back. These shoes are cute and have the classic Clark's comfort and no-slip sole, but are just too high for me. Unfortunately, the area where the toe meets the foot is quite snug, which is the problem I think other reviewers were referring to. I normally don't have this problem, so I think it is the shoe! If you have swelling or "thick feet," this shoe is not for you! I suspect the mesh styling would allow for stretch, so I would have kept them had they not been so high. I had to reorder a half size larger than I normally wear in Clarks. The toe box feels tighter on one foot than the other. I was able to stretch them enough to make them comfortable enough to wear. If they weren't such a cute shoe & love the red color, I would not keep them. They are not as comfortable as other Clarks that I have purchased. I am still breaking them in and I typically do not have sensitive feet. A little tight in the toe, too, but not terrible.
