They're that comfortable. I bought them because I only wanted to bring one pair of shoes on a trip. These work great. The only loss for me is that they don't make the cool clicking sound on floors that my leather-soled shoes do. Then again, my knees aren't sore after a day of walking when I wear these bad boys. After spending a couple days on my feet in these I find the arch support to be slightly lacking, but overall they are more comfortable than the steve maddens that I have worn to work in the past. I cannot fathom another brand being more comfortable. This is the first pair of Clarks for me, but will definitely not be the last. The shoes are extremely light, while feeling very durable. It seems that they mold to my feet. I am anxious to try more styles. If I could rate the Escalade 10 stars, I would probably try to push it to 11 stars. These shoes are very fashionable, very light and very comfortable. He gets compliments from his co-workers. The only test left is "will it last for at least a year of rugged wear?" We'll see. Zappos, you have the best customer service of any online store out there. My husband was completely amazed that he got his shoes the next day. I had first purchased another brand since the shoe looked good, but the comfort was not there. The other brand actually gave him blisters and it had cost as much as the Clarks. I decided to get him another pair of shoes since they’re nice, but uncomfortable… one was killing his feet. So far this has been the best dress shoes he has had. He loves the comfort and look. The shoe has great padding on the sole and heel area. He can wear it all day and have no foot problems whatsoever. I am the director of hospitality at a winery and I am routinely on my feet 7 to 10 hours a day. I have just ordered my second pair of Clarks Escalades. My first pair last me just over one year with relatively constant use. For any "dress casual" event this is a perfect shoe. These are great, size and width were right on and very comfortable from the first time I put them on. I ordered a pair in Brown and will order another pair in Black. I ordered the shoes on Wednesday, with free shipping included, and they were waiting for me when I got home from work Friday...they upgraded the shipping at no charge to me. I've purchased 3 pairs do far and will continue to buy from them. Comfortable shoes are not just necessary, they are an absolute! The Clark's Escalade is yet another in a long line of comfortable shoes that come at a reasonable price.
