My last few purchases have been Born’s and I love them. BORN does not have shoes dressy enough for work, so I had to look elsewhere. Clarks had the style I was looking for and so I made my purchase. My first thought was disappointment. As I wear them more they are looking better to me. The shoes are light which is nice but, the overall comfort is not as good as I had hoped. (I stand most of the day). I don't mean to sound so negative. They are good shoes and I would probably buy them again. They are very light and comfortable. You would think without laces they wouldn't stay on well, but not true. They have designed the front flatter so it fits like a glove. I own both black and brown. The brown color is amazing. It's like a nice deep furniture stain where you can see the details of the leather, beautiful. Today this means wearing shoes that are easy on and easy off getting through airport security. I found myself packing a second pair of shoes so I could travel in comfort, but also dress for my meeting. The Clarks Code has lightened my traveling by allowing me to wear a comfortable slip on while still having style for a business meeting. I can step on the plane in New York and literally hit the ground running in Cannes. These shoes hold their look with wear and become more comfortable. Shine gives a dressy look, but they look great with jeans, too. I own 5-6 pairs of Clarks. I'm considering the acquisition of a pedometer just to see how many miles I walk during a shift... These shoes were perfect for me: no laces that will untie during work; classy style; comfortable and VERY lightweight. They're honestly the lightest shoes I've ever owned. I ordered them a half size too big to put gel insoles in them and that turned out to be a great combo, although the insoles make the shoes hotter. I'm only giving them 4 stars because I'm sure there's something better out there but the ease with which I found them, the fast and free shipping and the very decent price (and did I mention the lightness?!) more than make up. I will buy Clarks through Zappos again!
