I'm on my feet all day for my job and I found them to be so comfortable that I just ordered another pair in Black from Zappos. My sister has been ordering shoes from Zappos for years and has been very happy with them. However, the quality and comfort of this shoe has greatly gone downhill. The color was also disappointing, not at all natural looking. They are the only shoes that do not fall apart after a short time - in fact, some pairs have gone to work with him for a year or more! This shoe has a lower stance than his previous Clarks and that was hard for him to get used to. His only complaint was the "paper thin” tongue - not the thick padded tongue he is use to in Clarks shoes. I haven't worn them without the orthotics because there isn't a distinctive arch support in the sole (which is easily removable). I'm a woman with large and somewhat wide feet, so men's shoes serve me well and lace-ups are good for support. I wanted to fall in love with these shoes - not yet, BUT they're great for wet and cold weather. I had to return them because the shoe design narrows toward the toe and my little toes on both feet were crushed. A larger size might have helped but then they would have been too long. I like the wider forefoot these shoes have, and (this will sound like a contradiction) the firm sole yet with a soft insole feeling. They are attractive and the leather is top grade.
