I wore out the first pair because I wore them so much. These shoes feel like bedroom slippers. Comfort is exceptional. They will accommodate orthotics, but I do not need then with these shoes. He stands all day on cement floors so he needs a good shoe. He has had two surgeries on his knees and it is constantly bothering him. He tells me the shoes are more comfortable, therefore alleviating some of the irritation to his knee. The leather is very soft. Feels a little wider than most shoes I own in this size. Not bad looking, but wouldn't have been a first choice. Since it is for work, available in 4E and they are comfortable they win out! They were true to size and width (mine is a 4EEEE). I teach high school and am on my feet all day on a concrete floor. My feet always hurt, but these shoes help wonderfully. Only kidding although I do live in Portland, OR. I have been wearing the shoes for approximately a month now and they feel great. I have a wide foot and take Euro 44 (4eee). The moment I put them on I could tell it was the right fit and after wearing them all day on many occasions my feet did not hurt. At 70 years old I find I am having some foot problems but these shoes have not exacerbated any problems. I am not going to report on the fast service (3 days to my door) as it was phenomenal. At $3.00 a gallon for gas and having to drive 76 miles round trip to get something like these (hopefully) just think of the money I saved. And if I didn't like them I could ship them back free. I have a mega-wide foot (11.5 6E). I found that the 12 6E shoe fit just fine. I own brown and am about to buy black. Go Clarks! I really, really, really wish they'd make other shoes (Desert boots, Wallabees, etc.) in WIDE widths.
