I bought the brown leather and they look so rich on jeans or even dark khaki shorts. They are extremely comfortable and not too heavy. I found the Clark's Portland to be a really good shoe for the money. I am on my feet 11+ hours a day in a sales environment and am EXTREMELY picky about my work shoes! These Portlands are well-padded, lightweight, offer excellent arch support and have good traction. They also look very nice, without looking too formal. However, like most reviewers have said, they do tend to run a half size too big. But, as always, Zappos was there to take them back and I ordered a half size smaller than I usually take and they fit perfectly! This gives it more slip in the morning, but goes away as the shoe warms and recovers its flexibility. I need more arch support than provided, but when I put in my usual insert, the shoe fit well and feels comfortable. Absolutely no complaints on daily wear. He stands all day on cement floors so he needs a good shoe. He has had two surgeries on his knees and it is constantly bothering him. He tells me the shoes are more comfortable, therefore alleviating some of the irritation to his knee. The leather is very soft. Feels a little wider than most shoes I own in this size. Not bad looking, but wouldn't have been a first choice. Since it is for work, available in 4E and they are comfortable they win out!
